Twan Zegers studied Comparative Literature, Publishing and Dutch in Utrecht, Amsterdam and Paris. He holds an MA in Foreign Languages, Literature and Culture (specialisation: Dutch) from the Faculty of Letters at Sorbonne University. He was a lecturer in Dutch at two Parisian institutions and went on to teach linguistics at the University of Vienna. Along the way, he deepened his knowledge of the didactics of foreign language instruction and of the international position of the Dutch language, through courses organised in conjunction by Flemish and Dutch universities on the one hand and the Dutch Language Union, the international body that governs issues related to the Dutch language on the other. His interests include philosophy, biology, history, dachshunds and literature.
